For the second time the 3hd Festival will take place this October across various venues in Berlin as well as online. After last year’s edition around the conceptual triangle of labour-sound-debt, this year’s festival will focus on the theme “There is nothing left but the future?” and hence will be dealing with ideas regarding identity, community and power through digitalized personas and politicized music. Although the festival’s line-up is not know yet, one can expect all distorted hyper-reality fun of contemporary hybridity by judging from recent events hosted by Creamcake, the promotors behind the 3hd Festival.

The same kind of fun is to be expected at the festival’s pre-event, for which we’re giving away two tickets (details see below). On June 29, 2016 Taipei-based Aristophanes貍貓 and New York’s Eartheater will play Hebbel am Ufer (HAU1). While the former assembles all kinds of influences into her poetry-electronica-collage, leaving songs more in a patchwork situation than giving them actual structure, Eartheater blends layers of guitars, synthesizers and voice into detailed compositions that are as much pop-hymns as they are experimental sound-art. After the two performances at HAU1, an afterparty is happening at the nearby restaurant WAU with DJ-sets by AGF and Dis Fig.
