“In whatever I do I try to be open minded, whether it’s just going about my life daily or in music”, Jordan wrote in a statement accompanying the mix. “I think that’s an important part of both things. I also like experiencing the extremes of most things which leads me to a variety music; some sad, some happy, some really ignorant, some self depreciating, some really ugly. The tunes in this mix are ones that may spark a fire inside but they also are a reflection of what happens sometimes in Jamaica. Jamaica is a great country but it has it’s roughness and this mix is a showcase of the extreme end of that spectrum.”
The mix thus contains 45 minutes of raw dancehall of recent date and there’s a bunch of Equiknoxx produced tunes – Aidonia, who’s featured heavily throughout, kicks thing off with “Art of War” for example. Also the killer grime tune “Drop” by Shokryme and Frisco is courtesy of the Jamaican beat-smithery. As Vybz Kartel has been a dominating presence in some our festivities during the summer it’s only fitting he also pops up a few times in the mix.

Equiknoxx are currently still touring Europe – with a few stops left. They’re DJing at Outlook festival next weekend and play at least two more live shows in Lisbon and Barcelona.
