Pre-Listen: ~raw’s remix of Solid Void’s “Yearnings Fade Into Particles”

Ahead of the second release on Milan-based imprint Realia—a self-titled EP by Solid Void—we are premiering one of the EP’s tracks: ~raw’s remix of “Yearnings Fade Into Particles.”

Milan has established itself as a solid alternative to overrun hotspots for adventurous music like Berlin and London. A striving scene offering everything from brutal raves to fine electroacoustic experiments is flourishing around institutions like Macao [see zweikommasieben #16], Milanorovina, Serendeepity, or Standards, and is fueled by labels such as Haunter Records[see zweikommasieben #14], Presto!?[see zweikommasieben #18], Die Schachtel, or Black Sweat Records[see zweikommasieben #16].

With ties to some of the aforementioned drivers, Milan-based Rookie-imprint Realia was given life by an enigmatic collective last year. We Keep Veiled a Solid Void That Grows, a compilation with tracks from various artists, was the label’s first release, which now is followed by Solid Void’s self-titled debut EP. The duo’s four original tracks—that nod at ambient, (weightless) grime, and dub—are supplemented by three remixes. In charge of the reinterpretations of Solid Void’s pieces are Milano Rovina-resident Ramirexx, Gang Of Ducks- and Opal Tapes-affiliated OOBE, as well as Realia-co-chef ~raw, who himself has previously cooked up some music for Berlin’s Portals Editions.

A jolly affair this seems to be! But get convinced yourself, while pre-listening to ~raw’s bittersweet take on Solid Void’s “Yearnings Fade Into Particles” taken from the EP, that is released in March:
